Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between mental health coaching and therapy?
Therapy focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health disorders and is provided by licensed clinicians. Coaching is forward-focused and supportive, helping you process life’s challenges and take meaningful steps toward wellness. As a certified Mental Health Coach through Light University and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), I offer faith-centered guidance—not clinical treatment. If you need therapy, I’ll gladly provide a referral to a trusted provider.
Is this a faith-based service?
Yes. My approach is based on God's Word (the Bible), prayerful reflection, the Holy Spirit's leading, and emotional wellness strategies. You don’t need to be at a certain place in your faith—you just need to be ready to take a step towards mental and emotional wellness.

Do you offer a sliding scale or discounted rate?
Yes. With a written recommendation or referral from a pastor or church leader (This can be sent via text or to my email).
They simply need to state that you would benefit from mental health coaching services and at the discounted rate.

EMAIL: michellezimmerly@yahoo.com Text: (863)673-0517

The discounted rate/cost with a pastor or church leader recommendation is $45.

This reflects my desire to support women in need while still honoring the time and value of the work we’ll do together. Please reach out to me directly before booking if you’d like to request this option.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance. Coaching sessions are not clinical therapy and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement. All sessions are self-pay and payment is due at the time of booking. See the sliding scale question for the availability of a discounted rate.
Do you have a refund policy?
Yes, I do. Please see below:
REFUND POLICY: 100% of this session is refundable up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
NOTE: If a church, pastor, or other source paid for the session, the refund will be returned directly to the source.
After the 24 hours referenced above have passed, no refund will be given. All sales are final.
Are the sessions in person or virtual?
Both. Sessions are offered in person or virtual if located in Hendry County, FL.
Sessions are offered virtually through Zoom. A meeting link is provided for the session shortly after the appointment is booked.
What kinds of issues can we talk about in a session?
You are welcome to bring whatever’s on your heart—stress, emotional exhaustion, grief, spiritual disconnection, relationship tension, or simply the feeling of being stuck or sad. My goal is to help you find clarity, peace, and hope as we walk through it together.
I'm worried about confidentiality. Will my session information be shared with others?
Confidentiality means that I, as your coach, will not disclose any information about you, the content of your sessions, or your identity as a client without your explicit consent. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Personal details such as your name, address, contact information, and background.
• Session notes, records, and correspondence.
• Topics, concerns, goals, and personal experiences discussed in coaching.
• Any assessment results, exercises, or feedback exchanged during your engagement.

This protection extends to all forms of communication, including
in-person, phone, video, chat, and email.
I am trained to uphold these standards, and everyone with access to client information is bound by confidentiality agreements.

Are there any limits of confidentiality?
Yes, there are limits.
Limits of Confidentiality
While I, your coach, am committed to strict confidentiality, there are rare circumstances under which I am legally or ethically required to break confidentiality. These situations include:

• Risk of Harm:
If you disclose that you are at imminent risk of harming yourself or others, I may need to share information with appropriate persons or authorities to ensure safety.

• Child or Vulnerable Adult Protection:
If I, the coach, has reason to believe a child or vulnerable adult is being abused or neglected, I am obliged to report this to relevant authorities.

• Legal Requirements:
In some cases, a court order or subpoena may require us to release specific information. I will comply only with valid legal demands and, whenever possible, inform you if such a situation arises.

• Professional Supervision:
To maintain the quality of coaching, I, as you coach, may participate in supervision with qualified professionals who are also bound by confidentiality. Identifiable details are minimized or anonymized as much as possible.

Do you offer support for women in addiction recovery?
Yes. While I do not provide clinical addiction counseling or treatment, I do offer faith-based support for women in recovery who are seeking emotional wellness, encouragement, and accountability. If you're navigating recovery and would benefit from a safe, Christ-centered space to reflect, process, and stay grounded in your goals, you are welcome here. Our work will remain client-centered, compassionate, and focused on your next faithful step forward. If additional support or clinical care is needed, I will provide referrals to trusted providers.
What if I need more support than coaching can offer?
If your situation would be better served by clinical therapy or another form of professional help, I will compassionately recommend that and offer to connect you with trusted licensed providers. Your well-being is the top priority.
