Ecopsychology studies the relationship between human mental health and the natural world, emphasizing that connecting with nature is essential for personal well-being.  Midlife often involves a re-evaluation of life, and connecting with nature can bridge this gap. The process of tending a garden, moving from soil preparation to planting seeds to harvesting, acts as a metaphor for personal growth and emotional transformation.

Do I need to schedule a FREE DISCOVERY CALL - FIRST?
YES! Plus it's FREE! Clients begin with a 30 minute Discovery Call to assess if Positive Shyft Coaching & Coach Jen will be beneficial for the progress and achievement of their goals. We can briefly discuss intentions and see which coaching package (number of sessions) or targeted practices will be best for your goals & intentions.
Is Life Coaching the same as Therapy or Counseling?
Life Coaches are not Therapists nor Counselors. Life Coaches do not provide treatment for mental health issues or clinical diagnoses. If you are struggling with mental health concerns, it is essential to consult a licensed therapist or psychologist. Coach Jen @ Positive Shyft focuses on the now & the future ~ while a therapists or counselor may focus on the past and utilize a framework that is based on pathology and illness. Coaches center their work around the belief that clients are healthy and take your current starting point as acceptable neutral ground. Coaching is action-oriented and helps you find solutions to get from point A to point B. Coaching may offer new strategies, practices, and action steps to support you in achieving progress or goals, but they are not there to tell you what to do. Life Coaches may work in conjunction with therapists or counselors. Therapists/Counselors utilize techniques to assist their clients in resolving the past so that they can identify underlying issues, address these issues, and move forward in the future. Coaches create a space for the client to strategize goals for that forward development and personal growth and work to support clients with accountability to achieve & sustain those goals.
Do Life Coaches need a certification or college degree?
A US Government agency does not regulate the Coaching Industry. While there's no legal requirement, pursuing certification through organizations like the International Coach Federation (ICF) can enhance credibility and provide valuable training. Certification programs provide structured training in coaching techniques and methodologies. Regardless of certification, all life coaches should be aware of and adhere to ethical guidelines, such as those provided by the ICF. 
Coach Jen @ Positive Shyft is a Master Certified Life Coach (MCLC) from Certified Life Coach Institute which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation(ICF). Coach Jen also has a BA in Psychology and wisdom earned through years of hands-on experience working with children & adults.

What is the Positive Shyft process?
Through powerful conversations, you will be inspired by new thinking and generate positive strategies for progress. Each coaching session will create focus and directional clarity, support the achievement of your personal goal(s), and enhance the quality of your life!

•Begin with a FREE 30 minute Discovery Call
Assess if Positive Shyft Coaching with Coach Jen will be beneficial for the progress and
achievement of your goals. Schedule a day/time for a 30 minute call on Coach Jen's calendar
and a Zoom link will be provided. Complete the Discovery Call worksheet to facilitate the
brief intro call.
• Purchase a Coaching Package and self-schedule a coaching session(s) on Coach Jen's schedule (a Zoom link will be provided for each coaching session).
•You will receive confirmation emails, welcome letters and forms. Complete the Coaching Agreement (*before the first session) and review the available content for each package.
•Bring a notebook/journal and the relevant content & meet with Coach Jen via Zoom on the day/time you scheduled.

Positive Shyft believes it is a healthy process and a sign of confidence & empowerment for a Client to independently control their own growth and development and apply all the strategies they have mastered through Coaching @ Positive Shyft. When fundamental change occurs, it allows for adaptive application and that, in turn, allows for more practical navigation of the complexities of your relationships and life.
