About This Session
This session is for your child.
It will give them a calm, supportive space to explore what’s going on for them, at their own pace and in a way that feels comfortable.
Each session is tailored to your child as an individual, using simple, age-appropriate ways to help them understand their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
What You'll Come Away With
Sessions are up to 60 minutes, but I always work with your child’s level of engagement.
Some children are ready for a full session, while others benefit from shorter, more focused time. Following their lead helps them feel safe, comfortable and more open, which is where the real progress happens.
There is no pressure on them to talk or behave in a certain way.
What Your Child Will Experience
Your child will have space to:
- explore their feelings in a way that makes sense to them
- begin to understand what’s going on inside, rather than feeling overwhelmed by it
- build confidence and feel more in control of their emotions
Sessions are gentle, supportive and often feel more like a conversation than something formal or structured.
Keeping You Informed
After the session, I’ll share a brief overview with you, along with any helpful insights or suggestions so you feel clear on how to support your child.
For older young people (typically 16–18), sessions are confidential to help them feel safe and able to open up. I won’t routinely share details from these sessions, but I would need to share information if there were a concern about their safety or the safety of others.
For younger children, I will share general themes, progress and guidance with you, while keeping the detail of what they choose to share private. This helps build trust in the sessions while still keeping you informed and supported as a parent.
