Leadership is both a day-to-day challenge and an ongoing process of development.

At times, you are dealing with immediate demands - decisions that carry weight, conversations that need to land well, and situations where the path forward is not obvious. At other times, your focus is developmental - building the capability to lead more effectively, often in response to feedback, ambition, or a recognised gap.

The Leadership Coaching subscription is designed to hold both.

It provides a consistent space to work through real leadership situations as they arise, explore career decisions and other professional challenges, while developing how you lead - strengthening your ability to lead people, communicate with impact, build presence, operate with confidence, and think more strategically.

The work is grounded in applied coaching practice, informed by postgraduate study, and drawing - where useful - on evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioural and positive psychology frameworks. The intention is not to prescribe behaviour, but to support sustained shifts in how you think, decide, and lead.

How our engagement is structured

We meet fortnightly for 60-minute sessions. This cadence keeps the work grounded in what you are actually dealing with, while allowing space to apply it in practice between sessions.

The engagement is ongoing and adapts to what is most relevant - at times focused on immediate situations, and at others on longer-term development.

What happens in a session

Each session is shaped by what is most relevant to you.
Situational
Working through decisions, preparing for critical conversations, or navigating complex dynamics. The focus is on clarity, judgement, and deliberate action.

Developmental
Often informed by feedback or a specific area you want to strengthen, such as leading others, communication, leadership presence, confidence, or strategic thinking. This work builds over time, with a structured focus on applying new approaches.

Foundational
During coaching patterns often emerge - how you approach decisions, experience pressure, interpret others, and respond. Where useful, we work with these directly, to understand what is driving behaviour and what needs to shift for change to hold.

What you will gain

In the short term
Greater clarity in how you approach specific situations, particularly those involving complexity, pressure, or interpersonal dynamics.

Over time
A more consistent and deliberate way of operating. You may find you:
  •  communicate more effectively
  •  lead others with greater consistency
  •  approach decisions with a clearer strategic lens
  •  feel more grounded in your confidence
  •  interpret and act on feedback more easily

At a deeper level
A clearer understanding of how you think and behave. Recognising these patterns allows you to adjust how you approach leadership more broadly. This is often what makes change more consistent.

How the work evolves

Early sessions focus on understanding your context - your role, environment, and priorities.

Over time, it can become more targeted when appropriate. This may involve deeper exploration of patterns, more deliberate capability-building, and, at times, more direct challenge.

The balance between situational and developmental work will often shift depending on what is most relevant to you.

Between sessions

After each session, you receive notes capturing key insights and agreed actions to support continuity. Where useful, I may share relevant frameworks, tools, or resources aligned to your development areas.

If profiling or assessment tools are used, these are completed outside of sessions and explored together.

Light-touch contact between sessions is available where needed—for example, to sense-check a situation in real time.

Your role

You are the expert on you. The work centres on your thinking, behaviour, and insight.

Its value depends on how you engage with it - bringing relevant, current material into sessions, engaging honestly in the process, and following through, where possible, between sessions.

Where the focus is developmental, this includes applying new approaches in practice and reflecting on the outcome.

My role as your coach

My role is primarily non-directive, focused on supporting you to arrive at your own considered position. At the same time, it is not passive. I will question assumptions, test your thinking, and introduce alternative perspectives for your consideration where useful.

In developmental work, I may also offer as an option the use of relevant frameworks or models to support your progress.

Everything is in service of strengthening your judgement and capability, not replacing it.

Confidentiality

All sessions are confidential and conducted within a professional coaching framework, in line with International Coaching Federation (ICF) core competencies.

This provides a space for open, considered, and appropriately challenging discussion.
