This 1-2-1 service will enable you to submit an application that demands an interview invitation.
Who is this for?
This is for people who need to upgrade their CV and also need further support in understanding the content required and formats necessary for an effective cover letter. One that doesn't just repeat what's already in the CV but adds to the CV and gives further reason for the recruiter to want to find out more.
What you'll come away with:
Two professionally written and effective documents that sell the expert, expertise, and potential that you offer. Your CV will paint the picture of a professional who is extremely competent in their line of work and highlight how successful they have been over their career. This information will be angled in such a way that the recruiter will feel confident that you could fix the problems they are recruiting to solve.
Your cover letter will add further weight and evidence to your CV. It will be concise yet powerful and offer further reasons for the recruiter to want to speak with you.
What to expect:
We would typically start with a one-hour call in which we would review your current CV and any example cover letters you may have. We will talk about your career aspirations and the types of roles you are wishing to apply for. We will then address your CV and talk through the picture it currently paints versus the profile we want it to describe.
You would then make the edits as outlined in our call before we schedule a second conversation to review those changes and describe further formatting and editing required.
Typically a third and final call is required in order to finalize the documents and ensure that you are completely happy.
How to prepare:
I will need a copy of your CV or CVs and a clear understanding of the roles you wish to apply for and the career you wish to pursue.
You may also have examples of cover letters that you have written so that we can understand how you are putting those together at the moment and what we could do to improve on what you have.
You need to be prepared to answer honest questions about your experience and expertise. In particular tangible quantifiable achievements
Finally I will be honest with you throughout the process and let you know clearly what is working and what is not.
Once you complete this process you will have a clear understanding of what you might have been doing wrong and how you will (or should) rethink your application process for the rest of your career. You will be equipped to maximise every application you submit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a generic Cover Letter
You can do whatever you choose, however, for a cover letter to be really powerful, it needs to talk specifically to that job, that company, your experience, and your motivations. For that reason I believe it should be tailored to the role you are applying for and imply passion for working in that role and in that company.
How long will the process take to complete?
This is very much driven by you. We will start with an initial conversation (typically 45-60 minutes) to go through the details and after which you will receive some homework in terms of amendments to be made to both your CV and cover letter. Once you have made those amendments we will arrange a further call to review once more and if necessary we repeat that process one last time. The process will therefore be driven by how quickly you are able to respond.
How important is the cover letter?
This depends upon the recruiter or the hiring manager. Sometimes they are hardly looked at at all and other times they are the difference between the candidate invited to interview and the candidate who is not. Or it can be the difference between the candidate who is offered the job and the candidate who is rejected at the final round. Therefore we need to maximise its value.
Will you write the new CV and cover letter for me?
No we will never do this. It is very important that the CV and cover letter are both written by you. They need to be in your language. They need to talk about your achievements. They need to highlight your passions. They must be unapologetically you.
