Stop Wondering What’s Next. Start Building It.

For years, you knew what your life required of you.

Your days were full of kids, work, family, responsibilities, and all the things that needed your attention.

Now something is shifting.

Maybe your kids need you less. Maybe the career you built no longer feels right. Maybe you’re considering a move, facing changes in a relationship, or simply looking at your life and wondering what you want now.

You keep coming back to the same thought:

“I need to figure out what’s next for me.”

Underneath that question is something bigger.

You don’t want to believe the best days of your life are behind you.

You don’t want to keep putting this off, only to look up five years from now and realize you’re still having the same conversation with yourself.

Maybe you want to do something big with your next chapter. Maybe you simply want to wake up feeling good about your life and how you’re spending your time.

Either way, your life isn’t something that happens someday.

It’s the days you’re living right now.

You want those days to feel meaningful. Enjoyable. Purposeful.

You want to feel good about how you’re spending your life.

That’s why figuring out what’s next matters.

Why Waiting Hasn’t Worked

You’ve probably spent a lot of time thinking about what’s next.

You’ve talked about it with friends. You’ve Googled ideas, listened to podcasts, maybe journaled about what you want or made a list of things you’d like to try.

You’ve had moments when you thought, “Maybe this is it.”

Then the doubts creep in.

Is this really what I want? Is it practical? Am I too old to start over? What if I make the wrong choice? What will everyone else think?

So you think about it some more.

That’s how months can turn into years without much actually changing.

The problem isn’t that you haven’t thought about this enough.

It’s that thinking about your next chapter and actually figuring out how you want to live it are two different things.

At some point, you have to stop waiting for the answer to suddenly feel obvious and start working through the questions that will help you find your way forward.

While you’re waiting to figure out what’s next, you’re already living it.

I Know This Season. I’ve Lived It.

I was a stay at home mom to four kids. I volunteered, managed the day to day, and showed up for everything.

Then my kids started leaving for college.

One day I stood in the laundry room, staring at a shrinking pile of laundry and thinking:

“Now what?”

For years, my life had revolved around what needed to be done and what my family needed from me.

Somewhere along the way, I had lost touch with what I wanted.

I didn’t want to just go through the motions or fill my days with more things to do.

I wanted to feel excited about my life again. I wanted something to look forward to. I wanted to feel like myself again.

But after years of asking, “What does everyone need from me?” I had a surprisingly hard time answering, “What do I want?”

I spent years trying to figure it out on my own.

What finally helped was having the right support and a process to sort through what mattered to me and start moving forward.

What took me years on my own took months with the right structure and support.

At 50, I went back to school and became a Certified Professional Life Coach and Core Dynamics Transition Specialist.

That was right for me. Your next chapter may look completely different.

You don’t need someone to tell you what to do next. You need support figuring out what you want and how to start living it.

That’s why I created the Next Chapter Roadmap.

The Next Chapter M.A.P. Method™

You don’t need to spend another year wondering what’s next.

The Next Chapter M.A.P. Method gives us a structured way to figure it out together.

Over 10 sessions, I guide you through three phases that take you from feeling unsure about what’s next to knowing what you want and moving toward it.

M: Make Sense of the Shift

We start by making sense of where you are now and why this season feels different.

Instead of wondering why you feel restless, unsettled, or not quite like yourself, you begin to understand what’s changing and what you need in this season.

A: Align With What Matters Now

Next, we focus on what matters to you now.

We sort through the possibilities, expectations, and second guessing so you can reconnect with yourself and begin to see what you want your next chapter to look and feel like.

Because what mattered in your last chapter doesn’t have to define the next one.

P: Put It Into Practice

Then we turn what you’ve discovered into a realistic path forward.

With support and accountability, you begin taking manageable steps toward what you want instead of letting doubt, uncertainty, or everyday life keep getting in the way.

You leave knowing what matters to you now, what you want next, and already taking steps toward days that feel more meaningful, enjoyable, and purposeful.

What Do You Want to Feel Different?

We don’t try to solve everything at once.

We pick one thing you want to feel different and start there.

Maybe it’s the thing you keep bringing up with your friends, thinking about when you have a quiet moment, or promising yourself you’ll deal with eventually.

Maybe it’s:

  • Figuring out who you are now that your kids don’t need you in the same way
  • Making a career change because you keep thinking, “I can’t do this for another 10 years”
  • Finally making your health a priority so you can feel better, stronger, and more like yourself
  • Feeling close to your partner again after years of focusing so much of your energy on kids and responsibilities
  • Figuring out your relationship with your adult kids and when to step in, step back, or do things differently
  • Finding your people again because you want more friendship, fun, and people to actually do things with
  • Making a decision you keep putting off, like moving, traveling more, going back to school, starting something new, or finally exploring an idea you can’t stop thinking about
  • Having something that feels like yours, even if you’re not quite sure what that is yet

Whatever keeps coming up for you, that’s where we start.

You don’t need to know exactly what you want before we begin.

That’s part of what we figure out together.

What Changes When You Stop Waiting

Figuring out what’s next doesn’t mean you suddenly have your whole life mapped out.

It means you stop spending so much time wondering and start feeling better about the life you’re actually living.

You begin to:

  • Wake up with things to look forward to instead of wondering what you’re supposed to do with yourself
  • Know what matters to you now so decisions don’t feel quite so complicated
  • Make time for yourself without feeling guilty every time someone else needs something
  • Actually follow through on the things you keep saying you want to do
  • Feel more like yourself again, not just the mom, wife, employee, caregiver, or person everyone counts on
  • Spend more of your days doing things that feel meaningful and enjoyable
  • Feel excited about what’s ahead instead of wondering if your best days are behind you

You may not know exactly what the next 20 years will look like.
You don’t need to.

You know what you want more of now, and you’re no longer waiting for your life to feel different. You’re doing something about it.

Is This Right for You?

The Next Chapter Roadmap is for you if you’re tired of having the same conversations with yourself and you’re ready to actually figure out what’s next.

This is for you if:

  • You keep thinking, “I need to figure out what’s next for me,” but you’re not sure where to start
  • Something in your life doesn’t fit the way it used to, even if you can’t quite explain why
  • You have ideas about what you might want, but you second guess yourself or never get very far with them
  • You want your days to feel different, but you’re not sure what needs to change
  • You’re ready to make yourself a priority, even if that feels unfamiliar or a little uncomfortable
  • You want someone in your corner who can help you sort through it, keep you moving, and hold you accountable along the way

This probably isn’t for you if you want someone else to decide what your next chapter should look like.

I’ll guide you, ask the right questions, help you see what you may not see on your own, and support you as you move forward.

But your next chapter has to be yours.

Testimonials

I was feeling lost, unsure of what was to come. The routines that anchored my days were changing. I was looking for support in rediscovering who I was beyond being a mom. There was a deep sense of disorientation. My days were becoming increasingly quiet, and I was struggling to fill the space that used to be so full of purpose. I was questioning my identity and self-worth, all while trying to figure out what my next chapter was supposed to look like. With coaching, I've begun to reconnect with the parts of myself that were buried under years of raising children. I'm learning to dream again. The quiet feels less empty, more like space to grow and rediscover who I am. Coaching has been one of the best decisions I have made during this transition. It has given me space to hear myself think and support to figure out what I want. If you are feeling unsure or even a little stuck, it is 100%, absolutely worth it.

I cannot express enough how helpful and encouraging these coaching sessions with Deanna have been for me. She has brought a sense of calm to my worries and mental relief to my struggles of losing weight, being healthy and feeling confident on a whole. I take what I learn each session and apply it to all aspects of my life and find that I am much more happy and at peace with myself and more present for all of the joy that surrounds me. Deanna is the best & I am so thankful for her guidance.

- Meg V.

I highly recommend Carpentier Coaching to anyone and everyone going through the Empty Nest (and life changes in general)! When I started her sessions, I was feeling overwhelmed and unsure. I had just sent my last kid off to college a few months earlier and the best word I can describe about the state I was in is “untethered”. Deanna worked with me over the months to get a clearer sense of what needs/wants I have that weren’t being met. Her calm and insightful guidance, along with some really useful personality and core values quizzes, helped me to better see what it is I need going forward into this uncharted territory. I am no longer anxious or unsettled. With Deanna’s help I have learned how to be comfortable with the quietness and to be positive about the future. I’m no longer “stuck”. Thanks SO much Deanna!

Frequently Asked Questions

How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy focuses on healing the past. Coaching focuses on moving forward.

In this work, we look at where you are now, what you want next, and help you take action to build it using my Next Chapter M.A.P. Method™.

If you’re dealing with significant mental health challenges, therapy is likely the better fit.

If you’re ready to move forward and want structure, support, and accountability to follow through, this is for you.

Can I do this program if I'm also seeing a therapist?
Absolutely. Therapy and coaching work really well together. Therapy often focuses on healing and processing, while coaching focuses on moving forward and taking action. They complement each other. If you're working with a therapist, just let me know so I'm aware, and we'll make sure the work we do supports your overall wellbeing.
Do you work with people outside of your local area?
Yes! All sessions are virtual over Zoom, so it doesn't matter where you live. I work with moms all over the country. As long as we can find a time that works for both our schedules, we're good.

What kind of results can I expect?
Most women start noticing shifts within the first few weeks. They feel clearer, less stuck, and begin to understand what they actually want next.

From there, you’ll create a plan and start taking consistent action, so you’re not just thinking about change, you’re moving forward.

By the end of the 12 sessions, you’ll have clear direction, a plan you’re following, and real momentum in your day-to-day life.

Exactly what that looks like depends on your focus, but you won’t still be stuck wondering what’s next.

Do you offer a guarantee or refund?
Yes. If after our first session you feel this isn’t the right fit, I’ll refund your full investment.

No pressure, no awkward questions. You deserve to feel confident in your decision.
What if I need support between sessions?
You’ll have email support between sessions, so you’re not stuck waiting when something comes up.

Whether you need help working through a decision, navigating a challenge, or staying on track, you can reach out and get support as you go.
What if I need to reschedule a session?
If you need to reschedule, you can do so with at least 24 hours notice.

If something comes up last minute, reach out and we’ll do our best to find another time.

That said, this work requires consistency, and showing up for your sessions is part of what creates real results.
What if I miss a session?
Sessions missed without notice are forfeited, as that time is held specifically for you. I understand that life gets overwhelming sometimes. If you're struggling to show up, let's talk about what's going on. That's often the most important conversation we can have.
What if I want to keep working together after three months?
Some clients choose to continue with ongoing support and accountability through my Next Chapter Momentum Program.

That’s completely optional. There’s no expectation to continue beyond the initial 10 sessions.
