NAME WHAT WORKS
A 6-Week Parent Coaching Cohort for Parents of Teens & Preteens
Less conflict. More confidence. A stronger relationship with your teen.
You love your child.
You want to stay connected.
You want to give them independence without completely letting go.
You want to hold boundaries without turning every conversation into a battle.
And some days, you still find yourself thinking:
Should I step in or step back?
Am I being too strict—or not strict enough?
Why does everything turn into an argument?
Am I helping…or am I making this harder?

Parenting teens can make even very capable parents question themselves.
6 weekly 75-minute live group coaching sessions

September 30–November 4, 2026
Name What Works is a 6-week live coaching experience designed to help you feel clearer, calmer, and more confident navigating this stage of parenting.
This is not about becoming a perfect parent.
It is about learning how to recognize what is happening underneath your teen’s behavior, respond instead of react, hold boundaries with greater confidence, and know when your child needs your help—and when they need room to figure something out for themselves.
Most importantly, you will not have to figure it all out alone.

What if you felt more confident knowing…
- When to step in—and when to step back
- How to hold a boundary without turning it into a power struggle
- What to say when your teen is angry, defensive, shut down, or overwhelmed
- How to stop carrying problems that increasingly belong to your child
- How to encourage responsibility without constant reminding, rescuing, or nagging
- How to influence your teen without trying to control them
- How to repair after an interaction does not go the way you hoped
- How to trust yourself more when making parenting decisions
Your teenager may still roll their eyes.
Let’s keep our expectations reasonable.
But you can feel less reactive, less uncertain, and much more grounded in how you want to show up.

This is not a parenting lecture.
Because sometimes you do not need another article, book, podcast, or list of ten things you should be doing differently.
Sometimes you need somewhere to say:
“Okay. Here’s what happened last night. What do I do now?”
That is what this group is designed for.
Each week, we will combine practical education with discussion, reflection, and live coaching around the situations parents are experiencing in real time.
Bring the homework battle.
Bring the friendship issue.
Bring the phone argument.
Bring the boundary you are afraid to hold.
Bring the moment you keep replaying and wondering whether you handled it correctly.
We will work through it together.
What We’ll Focus on Together
Throughout the six weeks, we may explore topics such as:
- Understanding adolescent development and what may be underneath your teen’s behavior
- Communication that reduces defensiveness and unnecessary conflict
- Boundaries, expectations, and follow-through
- Consequences versus punishment
- Motivation, responsibility, and independence
- Letting your teen struggle without abandoning them
- Pushback, shutdowns, big emotions, and emotional regulation
- Friendship, school, technology, and changing family dynamics
- Repairing after difficult interactions
- Recognizing parenting patterns that may be keeping everyone stuck
- Strengthening trust and emotional safety
- Identifying what is already working in your relationship—and intentionally building from it
And because parenting rarely follows a tidy curriculum, we will always make room for what is actually happening in your family that week.
What You’ll Gain
By the end of our six weeks together, you will have:

A better understanding of what is happening developmentally and what your teen may need from you.

Your Cohort Experience Includes
6 Weekly Live Group Coaching Sessions
We will meet for 75 minutes each week in a small, interactive group.
These sessions are designed for conversation, coaching, practice, and real-life problem solving—not six weeks of me talking while everyone politely nods on Zoom.
One Private 1:1 Coaching Session With Ashley
Your enrollment includes one individual coaching session scheduled at a time that works for you. Use this session to explore something more personal, work through a specific family challenge, or get individualized support applying what you are learning.
A Small Cohort
The group is limited to 10 families so there is room for individual coaching, meaningful conversation, and real support.
Small enough that your questions will not get lost.
And large enough for you to hear the magical words:
“Wait…your kid does that too?”
Practical Tools Between Sessions
You will receive reflection prompts, resources, and simple strategies to practice at home. Because the real work does not happen during our 90 minutes together.
It happens on Tuesday night when your teenager gives you that look and you suddenly realize:

The Power of Learning Together
Parenting can become strangely lonely.
You can have friends, family, a partner, an entire group text—and still wonder privately:
Is anyone else dealing with this?
One of the most powerful parts of group coaching is realizing that you are not the only one.
Another parent may ask the exact question you were afraid to ask.
Someone else’s situation may help you see your own child differently.
A strategy that works for another family may spark an idea for yours.
And sometimes simply hearing:
“That happens in my house too.”
is enough to make the whole thing feel a little lighter.
This group is designed to be supportive, respectful, practical, and free from judgment.
Perfect parents are not required.
In fact, they would probably make the rest of us uncomfortable.

This Group Is For You If…
You love your teen, but parenting them sometimes feels harder than you expected.
You replay interactions and wonder what you should have done differently.
You are tired of repeating, reminding, nagging, negotiating, or escalating.
You want your child to become more responsible and independent—but letting go is harder than it sounds.
You worry that setting limits will hurt your relationship.
Or perhaps you have prioritized the relationship so much that boundaries have become harder to hold.
You want to communicate without every conversation becoming a conflict.
You understand parenting ideas intellectually, but struggle to use them when emotions are high.
You are navigating changing family dynamics as your child becomes more independent.
Or perhaps things are generally going well and you simply want to understand adolescence better and protect the connection you already have.
You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from support.

A Different Kind of Parenting Support
I have spent more than two decades working with children, teenagers, parents, and families as an educator, parent and teen coach, family advisor, and mother of two daughters.
For years, I taught middle school.
Which means teenagers do not particularly scare me.
I actually really like them.
And throughout my work, I have seen the same thing again and again:
Parents are rarely struggling because they do not care enough.
They are struggling because they care so much that it becomes difficult to know when to step in, when to let go, when to hold firm, and when to simply stay close.
My work is grounded in adolescent development, education, coaching, restorative practices, and a strength-based approach to families.
We will absolutely talk about what is hard.
The arguments.
The eye rolls.
The anxiety.
The slammed doors.
The boundaries.
The moments when you have absolutely no idea what to say next.
But we will not stop there.
Because when we focus only on what is going wrong, we miss the moments that tell us what helps.
A conversation that went a little better.
A boundary you held calmly.
A moment your teen came back to you.
A time you repaired after losing your cool.
A small sign that trust is still very much alive.
Those moments matter.
They give us information.
And they help us answer the question at the center of this work:
What is working—and how can we create more of it?

Ready to Feel More Confident Parenting Your Teen?
You give your child an incredible amount of support.
Maybe it is time you had some too.
Over six weeks, you will have a place to bring the real situations happening in your family, receive practical coaching and personalized guidance, learn alongside other parents, and develop tools you can continue using long after the cohort ends.
The goal is not to eliminate every hard parenting moment.
The goal is for you to stop feeling so lost inside those moments.
You do not have to navigate the teen years alone.
Come figure out what works for your family—and learn how to create more of it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to attend all six sessions?
Ideally, yes. The group builds from week to week, so attending consistently will help you get the most from the experience.
What if I have to miss a session?
Life happens. If you need to miss a session, you will still have access to that week’s resources and homework so you can stay connected to the material.
Is this group only for parents of teenagers?
The group is designed primarily for parents of teens and preteens who are navigating the developmental shifts, communication challenges, and changing relationships that come with adolescence.
Will I be expected to share personal family information?
No. You are welcome to participate at the level that feels comfortable for you. There will be opportunities to ask questions and receive coaching, but no one will be pressured to share.
Is this therapy?
No. This is a coaching and educational program focused on practical parenting tools, communication, reflection, and support. It is not a substitute for therapy or mental health treatment.
What kind of homework will there be?
Homework will be simple and practical—reflection prompts, communication exercises, or small strategies to try at home between sessions.
Will there be time to ask questions about my own teen?
Yes. Each session will include time for questions, discussion, and coaching around real-life parenting situations. While there may not be time for every parent to receive individual coaching during every session, you’ll benefit from hearing the questions, experiences, and coaching of others—often discovering that another parent’s situation has a lot to teach you about your own.
How is this different from private coaching?
Private coaching is fully individualized to your family. This cohort combines education and live coaching with the added benefit of learning alongside other parents who are navigating many of the same challenges.
