For Business Owners

Nothing is broken. Something is off.

For owners standing on an inflection point.

The company is running. The team is working. And there is a drag on all of it you have been feeling for a while without quite putting words to it.

You may have already named it as something to buy. A new system. A senior hire. A reorganization of resources. AI, and what it might do for a company like yours.

Hold onto these. They are probably on the list, but rarely are they first.

What it usually looks like

  • Every decision of consequence still routes through you
  • The same problem keeps coming back wearing a different shirt
  • You have not taken a real day off in a year, and neither has the person you lean on most
  • If either of you were out for two weeks, you both already know what would happen
  • What the company knows lives in two or three heads, and very little of it is written down
  • The effort goes up and the speed stays the same

Why it is hard to name

A company has values whether anyone wrote them down or not. It has an identity too: the way decisions actually get made, what gets tolerated, what the team does when you are not in the room.

When those two drift apart, the company feels it before anyone can say what it is. That is the friction, and it is usually the first sign of an inflection point, the moment a company can no longer be run the way it has been run.

A company cannot be intentional about something it has never named. And nothing gets named until someone does it first. That someone is you.

Coaching first. Strategy next.

Whatever is on your list, the people who will carry it out have never agreed on what matters, who owns what, or why the company exists past making money. A new system or a new hire laid on top of that gets run the way the old one was.

So the work runs in an order, and it starts with you.

What does this company exist to do now, why does it matter to you at this point in your life, and what does success look like on the other side? It is a small share of the effort, and it is the whole foundation. Every value your team names, every role they take on, and every plan they write inherits the answer you give here.

When an owner skips this step, the team builds on a guess about what the owner wants. They are usually wrong, and they usually find out late.

Then your leaders, one person at a time, learn what you know, too.

Then the team. Values into strategy, roles into a plan, then execution, then the rhythm that holds it after the energy of the first push fades. Most of the effort lands there, and none of it holds without the first two.

Who you would be working with

I spent over twenty years leading teams and running multi-million-dollar businesses through transformation. I have sat in the seat you are sitting in.

That is why the work starts where it does. Clarity, accountability, and a leadership mindset are what make growth hold. Reactive decision-making does not.

I am also an ICF-certified coach, and both halves are in the room at once. At your stage, what is slowing a company down is usually the business and the people inside it at the same time.

Before any of that, a conversation

Forty-five minutes, no cost. An introduction to see whether there is a fit, for you and for me.

You tell me what you have been feeling and what is already on your list. I ask questions. We both find out whether this is the right moment and the right work. I will also walk you through how the work is mapped so you can see where you are.

If there is a fit, the next step is a Growth Discovery Workshop.

The Growth Discovery Workshop

Two hours, no cost.

Before the work begins, you and I need to know you are standing on an inflection point and how close you are to it. That is what these two hours are for.

Three parts. How you got here, the real story. Where things actually stand today, no filter. And only then, where you want to take it. It works in that order because it is hard to think clearly about the future while your head is still full of the past or on fire with today.

If what brought you here is AI, a hire, or a new system, we will get to it. We cannot point any of those at your business usefully until we understand where it has come from, where it is, and where you want it to go.

I am not selling anything in those two hours, and I am not solving anything either. You get two hours to think about things you haven't had the time or space to think about, with me asking good questions.

What you get afterward

A written reflection. I take what I heard and hand it back to you, mostly in your own words, along with the values you named and the ones that ran through your language without you naming them. For many owners, this is the first time the friction has words.

It has no plan and no proposal attached. You sit with it for a couple of weeks and tell me whether it still rings true. If something bothers you or you find yourself arguing with a part of it, that reaction is the useful one.

Plenty of owners take it from there and keep working on it themselves. Everything in it is yours.

Two hours will not answer what this company exists to do now, and it is not meant to. It comes before that work and tells you whether the work is yours to do. I lead with curiosity. You leave with insight. What you do with the insight is yours.

Who this is for

Most of the companies I work with run between $5M and $25M. What they have in common is a moment:

  • A founder transition, in either direction
  • A growth transition where the way you have been running it has stopped scaling
  • A new executive team, or a new leader stepping into a seat that matters
  • A company absorbing an acquisition or a change in ownership
  • A plateau that has held for years while everything around it changed

If you are in the middle of a real crisis, this is not the moment. This work needs room to think, and a crisis does not leave any.

The question that decides anything

Realistically, how much time can you put toward this in the next six months?

Most owners at an inflection point are already at fifty or sixty hours a week. If the honest answer is not much, that is a useful answer. It means the first move is to create capacity, before anything else.
