Crystal Turner
Here’s a little bit about me and my approach
My name is Crystal Turner (kiddos call me Mrs. Crystal) and I have been a registered occupational therapist (OTR) for 26 years.

My goal is to coach parents/caregivers/educators towards making functional gains in life skills  when guiding children/young adults in the ADHD/neurodiverse/GT/autistic community.  Everyone needs to learn how to work in their strengths and manage their weaknesses!

I help families to navigate next steps and guide them towards a curated list of resources I have gathered, in addition to personalized insights from my experience.

What sets my coaching apart?

I coach parents and caregivers with real time coaching to address challenges via via the Kinspire app. This offers ongoing support so I can offer very personalized modifications to improve progress much quicker!

For example, we initially create an outline to work on two of the most challenging behaviors/issues,  then we can efficiently coach as needed via short voicemails and/or texts that I will respond to within 24 hours.

Being able to effectively try out AND modify strategies via quick, convenient communication (not waiting until the next appointment) empowers the parent/ caregiver who then empowers the child/ young adult.

I also enjoy mentoring new grad OT's and neurodivergent young adults/adults who want build their strengths in all areas of life (work, social skills, time management, executive functioning, etc.)

A little about me: I have worked in all settings over the years; including the nuerological team at Bavlor Institute of Reabilitation and assisting in their Vision Therapy clinic. I then went onto management for a few years.

I have spent the last 14 years concentrating on what I love the most - pediatrics! After working in both outpatient and home health pediatric settings I then transitioned into working at a ABA clinic part-time as well a school-based setting part-time. I also provide teacher and parent trainings on how OT can support them in the areas of exectuve functioning, ADHD, Autism, GT, twice exceptional and nuerodivergence.

I currently enjoy serving on the Board for StandUpLD (a nonprofit support network for parents and educators seeking resources to support and empower children with learning differences) as well as working at Westlake Academy.

My husband and I have three fun (and always adventurous) teenage boys! We love to travel, create adventures, add value and kindness wherever we go, and be outdoors.
As a teenage boy mom and OT, modifying life's daily activities and teaching them to become thriving adults is a skill set I learn everyday!

Over the years, l've seen how I can make an impact not just in the school or clinic setting, but for the whole family. The progress I see during my individual sessions doesn't always carry over into the daily classroom or home setting. Many parents and teachers ask me what they can do to incoporate these skills on a daily basis, which is why I love coaching!
