Living with Medical PTSD Connection!(18+ Saturdays at 2:00pm EDT/EST)
Living with Medical PTSD Connection FREE groups are for Warriors ages 18+ that are interested in joining one of our groups but want to check it out first! These FREE group sessions are your chance to check out the online platform, meet facilitators, test the vibe, and ask questions before enrolling in a specific group. Facilitated by Emily Parks, a chronically ill young professional based out of Maryland working in behavioral health and patient advocacy. Combining her expertise in behavioral health with her lived experience of navigating multiple tertiary hospitals firsthand has led her down the path of studying the impact of medical trauma and medical PTSD on patients and providers and its influence on treatment outcomes. 💙💙

The ongoing groups will be made up of adults (18+) experiencing or questioning if they are experiencing symptoms of PTSD brought on by the necessity of navigating the healthcare system as a chronically ill person.

Chronic Warrior Coaching brings together small groups of 7-10 people living with chronic illness, rare disease, and/or disability to connect and find support with peers who “get” them. Groups are NOT illness or disease specific, however, may be determined by interest, location, and other common factors.

We are a SAFE, WELCOMING, & INCLUSIVE SPACE for EVERYONE!!  🥰🌈😎👨🏻‍🦽🌸

Chronic Warrior Coaching is for people who are going through the typical challenges of someone living with chronic illness, rare disease, or disability, but who may not need therapy or counseling right now. For those already seeing a mental health professional, Chronic Warrior Coaching can be a great partner in care and a place to practice new skills and techniques. (However, coaching is a non-clinical approach not meant to be a replacement for mental health counseling or therapy.)

Overview of a Typical Session

  • Introduction & Welcome from your group facilitator(s)

Your commitment:

  • Make every effort to attend the session you've registered for! (We know it’s not always easy with illness and, sometimes, just life in general, so please let us know if you can’t join so we know you’re ok and can open your spot for someone else)
  • Read the Online Etiquette Guide that will be emailed to you so you know what's expected!
  • Join as close to starting time as possible from a quiet and private space.
  • Maintain the privacy of fellow group members and never share personal information or discussions from the group with others.
  • Bring as much love and support as you expect to receive.
  • While we limit space to 10 people, that still only allows for only a few minutes for each person to share. So please help us make sure everyone gets a chance to join in!

This package includes
  • Small groups with like-minded people
  • Meeting online—60-90 minutes sessions per week (time determined by how members are feeling that day)
  • Every meeting led by a skilled coach/facilitator
  • Join anytime (as long as there is still space available)
  • Enjoy socializing and having fun in a space that helps you feel better!
