If you're curious about hypnosis and nervous about the idea of giving up control, this session is for you! It's specifically designed with demand avoidance in mind, which most Autistic and/or ADHD folks have.
Learning how to get your unconscious mind on board can support many areas of life. However, it's important to learn this as a tool for communicating with your body/unconscious, rather than trying to "trick" it.
Both hypnosis and self-hypnosis support
- Understanding why your body or brain are doing something
- Communicating with the unconscious
- Receiving wisdom from the body
- Embodied change rather than top-down intellectual change
- Feeling more self-compassion and less shame/guilt
If you've done everything you can think of on the intellectual side of things, this is a way to start gently bringing the whole body on board.
There are three goals for the session:
- Address any intellectual concerns/questions; understanding the process
- Learning Self-hypnosis
- Trying hypnosis
Based on your comfort level, there are many options for #3, including sticking with self-hypnosis. The entire session will be about embodied consent, a useful skill in itself.
Who is this for?
- Neurodivergent folks who experience demand avoidance
- People who are curious about hypnosis and want to take it slow
- Some comfort with receiving messages from the body*
*This usually means you've done some therapy. If all messages from the body feel like panic-level, please explore body-based techniques (which hypnosis is) with a licensed therapist.
