In today’s future-focused mindset, we are consumed by where we are going and often lose sight of where we’ve come from. The Origins Workshop is an invitation to pause, close your eyes and remember the smells, sounds and sights of our childhood.
This 4-week immersive creative writing experience will be hosted by Story Coach, Esperansita Bejnarowicz.
Guided by American Author George Ella Lyon's 'Where I'm From" poem, each participant will write their very own version of the poem to capture the essence of their childhood.
No writing experience? No worries. The first session will be dedicated to the writing process and various Templates will be provided for your reference. Templates and writing guides will be provided to help guide participants through the writing process.
Over the course for the 4-week workshop, each participant will receive ~30-40 minutes each to share, engage and reflect on their poem with their group, guided by the Group Facilitator.
In addition, each session will also include facilitated discussion around sample topics such as (but not limited to); How to Create a Safe Space for Sharing / Active Listening / How to Hold Stories with both Honor & Truth, providing participants the opportunity to grow their ability to hold others stories well.
