Playtime With Shadow Archetypes

We are all made up of many Archetypes. In this case, I'm referring to the Astrological Archetypes developed by Karen (KJ) Hawkwood, such as the Mermaid, Happy Animal, and Curious Child.

Your Archetypes are defined by your astrological birth chart. But as we learn and grow in the world, sometimes we push some of them down—KJ would say we put them in the basement.

These basement archetypes don't go away. They still want to get their needs met, and express themselves. Now they may spring up at difficult times in their more "shadow" form. This can look like feeling pulled in different directions, communication challenges, feeling stuck, and more.

Over three sessions, we will:

  • Cover the strengths and challenges of your top Archetypes
  • Get to know your Archetypes in a gentle, embodied way (through somatic practices)
  • Listen for the Archetypes that need to tell you something, or get their needs met 
  • Integrate what we find so it's clear what it means for your life
  • Brainstorm easy suggestions to continue supporting your Archetypes 

Warning: You may stumble upon life-changing information! 

The three sessions: 

  1. 90 min: to get to know your unique archetypal makeup, answer your questions about them, and identify which needs are not being met*
  2. 45 min: Playtime with the Archetypes (with checkin at beginning, and integration checkin at the end so you know what you'll be focusing on until next time)
  3. 45 min: ~30m Playtime with the Archetypes, and ~15m integration time for what you'd like to continue bringing forth in your life 

*Note: If you've worked with KJ (or one of their students) enough to know your archetypes quite well, we can chat about them more briefly and dive into the Playtime in session 1! If you're not sure yet, that's totally fine—we'll figure it out in the first session.

Other details:

  • Recordings of call available to keep 
  • Light email support available between sessions as needed 
  • Optional guided questionnaires between sessions so you can track and remember your insights
  • Six months to use your sessions (I recommend ~2 weeks apart for momentum + integration) 
  • The 45m appointments hold 60 min on my calendar, if we need the time 
  • The sliding scale is completely up to you. Please select what feels right for your situation

What's the somatic part?

You'll hear me say somatic, body-based, and embodied. They all mean that we're paying attention to signals from the body to hear its wisdom. This includes both your internal sensations, and small details I notice from my years of training as a somatic practitioner.

I've certified in many modalities, including hypnosis, somatic parts work, and various trauma-informed somatic approaches. I'm also a very sensitive AuDHD person who understands that the body can be a strange place to inhabit. This is to say—I can navigate whatever comes up, and will always seek a gentle and non-triggering pathway.

If you're less comfortable with the body, that's fine too! We can stick with things that just look like talking. I'll just be closely watching body signals and bringing that information to your attention as it feels right for you.
