THE CO-MISSION
Coaching Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: January 1, 2024
These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) are entered into by and between Congruency LLC, doing business as The Co-Mission (“Coach,” “The Co-Mission,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the individual(s) enrolling in or participating in coaching services (“Client,” “you,” or “your”).
By purchasing, scheduling, or participating in any coaching session, program, assessment, or intensive offered by The Co-Mission, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.
1. Nature of the Coaching Relationship
Coaching with The Co-Mission is a collaborative, non-therapeutic partnership designed to support awareness, alignment, clarity, and growth in marriage and relationships through structured conversation, reflection, education, and practical tools.
Coaching is not:
- Therapy or counseling
- Mental health treatment
- Medical or psychological care
- Crisis intervention
- Legal, financial, or clinical advice
Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health disorders and is not a substitute for licensed therapy, psychiatric care, or medical services.
You understand that coaching focuses on present- and future-oriented growth, not the treatment of past trauma or pathology.
2. Scope of Services
Coaching services may include, but are not limited to:
- Individual or couple coaching sessions
- Marriage alignment sessions
- Group coaching or cohort programs
- Intensives or retreats
- Educational frameworks, exercises, and assessments
- Faith-integrated reflection and biblical principles
The specific scope, duration, and format of services will be outlined at the time of purchase or enrollment.
3. Not Therapy, Counseling, or Mediation
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Coaches with The Co-Mission are not licensed therapists, counselors, psychologists, or psychiatrists
- Coaching is educational and developmental, not clinical
- Coaching does not involve diagnosing mental illness or providing treatment for trauma, addiction, abuse, or psychiatric conditions
If at any point coaching surfaces issues that fall outside the scope of coaching, you may be referred to an appropriate licensed professional.
4. Client Responsibility & Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge that:
- You are fully responsible for your own decisions, actions, and outcomes
- Coaching outcomes depend on your engagement, honesty, effort, and follow-through
- No specific outcomes, results, or transformations are guaranteed
You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in coaching, including emotional discomfort that may arise from reflection, honest conversation, or relational exploration.
5. Confidentiality
The Co-Mission respects client confidentiality and will not disclose personal information shared during sessions except as required or permitted by law.
Exceptions to confidentiality include:
- Disclosure of intent to harm yourself or others
- Suspected abuse or neglect of a minor or vulnerable adult
- Court orders, subpoenas, or other legal obligations
Anonymous or de-identified examples may be used for:
- Training
- Supervision
- Education
- Program improvement
No identifying details will be shared without consent.
6. Couples Coaching & Shared Confidentiality
When coaching couples:
- Information shared by one spouse may be explored in joint sessions
- Coaches do not keep secrets between spouses
- If individual conversations occur, coaches reserve discretion on how information is integrated to support alignment and safety
Coaching is designed to foster honesty and transparency, not secrecy.
7. Scheduling, Attendance & Cancellations
Session Length
- Standard sessions are 60 minutes, unless otherwise stated
Cancellations & Rescheduling
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule
- Sessions canceled within 24 hours may be forfeited
- No-shows are considered used sessions
Late Arrivals
- Sessions will end at the scheduled time
- Late arrival does not extend session length
8. Between-Session Communication
Limited email or text communication may be available at the coach’s discretion and is intended for:
- Brief clarifications
- Accountability reminders
- Resource sharing
Between-session communication is not guaranteed, monitored, or intended for crisis support.
9. Payment, Refunds & Financial Policies
- Payment is due prior to sessions or program participation
- All completed sessions are non-refundable
- Unused sessions are non-refundable unless otherwise stated
- Refunds, if any, are granted solely at the discretion of The Co-Mission
Missed or forfeited sessions are not eligible for refunds.
10. Programs, Intensives & Cohorts
For multi-session programs, intensives, or cohorts:
- You commit to the program structure and schedule
- No partial refunds are issued for missed sessions
- Program content is proprietary and may not be shared, recorded, or distributed
11. Intellectual Property
All materials provided by The Co-Mission—including frameworks, worksheets, assessments, recordings, written content, and methodologies—are the intellectual property of Congruency LLC.
You may not:
- Reproduce or distribute materials
- Teach or resell content
- Share materials publicly or commercially
Without written permission.
12. Minors
Clients under 18 years of age require:
- Written consent from a parent or legal guardian
- Assumption of legal responsibility by the parent/guardian
The Co-Mission reserves the right to decline services to minors.
13. Referrals & Outside Support
The Co-Mission may recommend external resources (therapists, counselors, ministries, or professionals). Any engagement with outside providers is entirely your responsibility and not affiliated with The Co-Mission.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- The Co-Mission makes no guarantees regarding outcomes
- We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from coaching services
- Coaching is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Congruency LLC, The Co-Mission, its owners, contractors, coaches, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from your participation in coaching services.
16. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate the coaching relationship at any time.
The Co-Mission reserves the right to immediately terminate services without refund in cases of:
- Harassment or abusive behavior
- Violation of these terms
- Non-payment
- Misuse of services
- Safety concerns or ethical conflicts
17. Governing Law & Venue
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any legal action shall be brought exclusively in Indiana courts.
18. Entire Agreement
This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior agreements or communications.
No modification is valid unless made in writing and agreed upon by both parties.
19. Acknowledgment & Consent
By enrolling in or participating in coaching services with The Co-Mission, you affirm that:
- You have read and understood this Agreement
- You voluntarily agree to these Terms & Conditions
- You understand the scope and limits of coaching services
