Welcome! I’m looking forward to working with you. Please read through this document and let me know if you have questions. The last page is the Coaching Agreement.  Please fill that out as directed, note your agreement with your initials and then return that page to me.

THE CO-CREATIVE RELATIONSHIP:  The relationship between a coach and client is co-creative. I am not a therapist or a counselor. I have been trained to use my communication skills to support you as a thinking partner. Together we will find the courage and the confidence that will lead to meaningful changes and move you toward your goals.

YOUR ROLE:  Client Agenda – Prior to each session, please take the time to determine what you’d like to take away.  Please email your agenda and any background information needed 24 hours prior to our appointment to hello@courageandflow.com.

Ways You Can Get More from Your Coaching Experience:

 • Make our coaching sessions a priority. Come to every call with a specific agenda.
• Protect your investment by showing up to every session on time and setting a clear intention to take action.
• Please provide feedback in the moment about your coaching experience.
 • Do what you agree to do in between sessions.
• Integrate what you learn into your daily life.
 • Be willing to try new approaches.

You may terminate or discontinue the coaching relationship at any time with 48 hours’ notice.  Further, you acknowledge that coaching does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental disorders.  If you are currently under the care of a mental health professional, it is recommended that you promptly inform your mental health care provider of the nature and extent of the coaching relationship you’ve entered into.   Coaching is a comprehensive process that may involve different areas of your life, including work, finances, health, relationships, education and recreation. Deciding how to handle these issues, incorporate coaching principles into those areas, and implementing choices is exclusively your responsibility.

MY ROLE: I will listen closely to you, respond to what I hear, and ask you questions.  If I hear something in your voice or language, that sparks an intuitive thought, I will ask you about it.  Often, it is the small moments that bring about the biggest shifts.  If I’m off base, please let me
know.  I don’t need to be right.  At the end of the session, if you haven’t set specific actions that you are ready to take, I may make a coach request:  I may ask you to push yourself; to deepen the work done in the sessions by writing, taking one action step, resolving relationships or things that feel incomplete. You are free to negotiate, accept or decline. I will maintain the ethics and standards of behavior established by the International Coach Federation “(ICF)” (Coachfederation.org/ethics).

EXTRA TIME: If you have questions, or a brief update between our sessions, please contact me via email at hello@courageandflow.com.   I may suggest a brief phone call or to add that as an agenda item for our next session.

MY SERVICES: We both agree to engage in a Coaching Program through scheduled meetings via Zoom or telephone.  I will be available to you, the Client, by e-mail in between scheduled meetings for quick questions or updates.  I may also be available for additional time, per a client’s request on a prorated basis rate of $100/hour (for example, reviewing projects, reading pitches or scripts, engaging in other client-related services outside of our coaching hours).

SESSION PROCEDURES:
• You will be sent a Zoom link automatically, unless you prefer to be coached another way.  This will need to be discussed beforehand.  Please note that you do not need to turn on your camera in the zoom.  In fact, it often allows you to listen more when not distracted by video.
• If you do not log in within 15 minutes of your scheduled session time the session will be lost.

SCHEDULE CHANGES/VACATION/BUSINESS TRIPS:
• We will set a mutually agreed upon time for our sessions.
• Please give our session high priority and arrange your schedule to honor our agreed upon time.
• I require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to reschedule a session.  In any case, if you must miss one, please let me know as soon as you are able.
• If you forget a session and forget to give 24 hours notice, that session will be counted as a completed session under our agreement and will not be rescheduled.
•However, I will consider emergency situations on case-by-case basis.
• If you have planned vacations or business trips that will conflict with our sessions, please notify me of these as soon as you have an itinerary and we will reschedule. I will do the same for you.

TERMINATION:  Either the Client or the Coach may terminate this Agreement at any time with 1 week’s written notice. Client agrees to compensate the Coach for all coaching services rendered through and including the effective date of termination of the coaching relationship.

CONFIDENTIALITY: Our coaching relationship, as well as all information (documented or verbal) that you, the client, shares as part of this relationship, is bound by the principles of confidentiality set forth in the ICF Code of Ethics. However, you should know that the Coach-Client relationship is not considered a legally confidential relationship (like the medical and legal professions). Communications are not subject to the protection of any legally recognized privilege. I agree to not disclose any information pertaining to you without your written consent. I will not disclose your name in a testimonial, without your explicit consent.

RELEASE OF INFORMATION FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES: As a Coach, I am engaged in training and continuing education while pursuing and/or maintaining ICF (International Coach Federation) Credentials. This process requires the names and contact information of all clients for possible verification by ICF. By signing this agreement, you agree to have your name, contact information, along with the start and end dates of coaching, the frequency of meetings such as # of meetings per/week, month etc. shared with ICF staff members and other parties involved in this process, for the sole and necessary purpose of verifying our coaching relationship, with no personal notes shared.
