Terms and Conditions
Scope of Practice
As a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), I partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting change aligned with their values. Coaching is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, disease management, or nutritional counseling. I do not diagnose medical or psychological conditions, prescribe medications, or provide treatment for mental health disorders.
If you are currently in treatment for a medical or psychological condition, I encourage you to continue working with your healthcare providers. Coaching can complement—but never replace—appropriate medical or mental health care.
Confidentiality
Our coaching conversations are confidential. I will not share information about our work together without your written consent, except in the following circumstances required by law:
  • When there is imminent risk of harm to yourself or others
  • When there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or dependent adult
  • When required by court order
Client Responsibility
You are responsible for:
  • Arriving prepared for scheduled sessions
  • Implementing action steps between sessions
  • Communicating openly about what is and isn't working
  • Informing me of any changes in your health status that may affect our work together
Coaching outcomes depend on your engagement and willingness to experiment with new approaches.
Scheduling and Cancellation
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a session. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) or no-shows will be charged the full session fee unless we've made prior arrangements due to emergencies.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of booking unless we've arranged a package or alternative payment schedule. All fees are non-refundable once a session has been completed.
Termination
Either of us may discontinue the coaching relationship at any time. If you choose to end coaching, any unused prepaid sessions from packages may be refunded on a prorated basis. I reserve the right to terminate the coaching relationship if I determine that coaching is no longer serving you, or if our work together is outside my scope of practice.
Professional Boundaries
Our relationship is a professional coaching relationship. I do not engage in dual relationships (social, business, or romantic) with clients during or after our coaching engagement.
Communication Between Sessions
Brief check-ins via email are welcome for scheduling or clarifying action steps. Substantive coaching conversations should occur during scheduled sessions. I typically respond to emails within 48 business hours.
Technology and Platform
Sessions may be conducted via video conference, phone, or in person (if applicable). You are responsible for ensuring you have a private, quiet space and reliable internet connection for virtual sessions.
Dispute Resolution
If concerns arise about our coaching relationship, I ask that you raise them directly so we can address them together. If we cannot resolve a concern, you may contact the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching at nbhwc.org.
Acknowledgment
By booking a session, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
