FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – Clarity As A Service

1. What exactly is coaching — and how is it different from mentoring or consulting?
Coaching isn't advice-giving. I won't hand you a playbook or tell you what I'd do. Instead, I ask the questions that help you untangle what's in the way and uncover answers you already carry. Mentors share their path; consultants solve your problem for you; a coach helps you think more clearly so you can solve it yourself — which is what makes the change last.
2. Who do you typically work with?
Professionals at any career stage: people starting out and feeling overwhelmed by choices, mid-career folks navigating change or a motivation dip, and those weighing a move into management. My own background spans 30 years in tech (Oracle, IBM, SAP, Microsoft), so I'm especially at home with IT and enterprise professionals — but the coaching itself works for anyone.
3. I'm not sure which package is right for me. Where do I start?
Book the Free Discovery Call. It's a no-obligation conversation to understand what you're working through, and I'll recommend the best fit — whether that's a single Breakthrough Session or a longer journey like Career Directions or The Open Road.
4. What happens in a session?
A focused, confidential conversation — typically 60 minutes. You bring the topic; I bring structured questioning, frameworks, and tools drawn from cognitive-behavioural coaching, NLP, and emotional intelligence. You leave each session with a genuinely different perspective and a concrete action you've committed to.
5. How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the goal. One well-focused issue can shift in a single Breakthrough Session. Bigger questions — career direction, a transition, a pattern you keep repeating — benefit from a multi-session journey where insights build on each other.
6. Are sessions online or in person?
Sessions are held online via video call (with Google Meet or Microsoft Teams), so you can join from anywhere. If you are Sydney-based, depending on where you are based, we might be able to arrange a face-to-face session, we can discuss it.
7. Are you a qualified coach?
Yes — I hold the ACC credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the global gold standard for professional coaching, and I coach to the ICF Code of Ethics.
8. Is everything we discuss confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is built into my coaching agreement and the ICF Code of Ethics. Nothing you share leaves the session without your explicit consent.
9. What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. You can reschedule directly through the booking system with reasonable notice — details are in your booking confirmation.
10. How do I know coaching is working?
We define what success looks like at the start, and check progress against it. Most clients report the same things: clarity on where they're headed, confidence in their decisions, and a practical plan — not just good conversations.
