Embrace your voice and unique creativity! This intensive provides a safe and fun space to practice embodying core principles of spontaneous vocal composition: listening, attunement, courage, self-trust, compassion, dynamics, and the spirit of play. We will focus on the building blocks of vocal improvisation to develop awareness, skills, confidence and cohesion.
I recommend that you keep a water bottle handy during the intensive, and wear clothes that allow freedom of movement and breath. Please refrain from wearing scented products.
Bring your own lunch, and there will be organic tea, fruits, and snacks available throughout the day. Also, there are several restaurants within a short drive of Mabel's Rest.

Testimonials
When I experienced your work, I was brought to an ancestral and inclusive land where every voice makes up part of the whole. I love that I got to experience the joy of creation! I would recommend you to someone who would like to reconnect with possibility and magic.
- Diane N. Ghogomu: Somatic Sexuality Educator, Embodiment Coach, Pleasure Scholar and Activist
It's really important to put yourself in that vulnerable state [and] to keep working on that muscle. I am really appreciative and grateful that I was able to continue working on that. I look forward to many more workshops.
- Sam Newman-Plotnick: Producer, Educational Programming and Sales @ Flowering Sun Ecology Center
The facilitation - to be able to feel safe in the container with the instruction, and then being held by the community - was the transformational part! And it was an art to watch the creativity and the love that was coming out of Onome.
- Aliza Gordon: Vocalist, Organizer @ LoveSong Fest
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this intensive for?
I can carry a tune, but I don't identify as a "singer." Can I attend?
While it's helpful to have familiarity with the basics of singing, the goal of the Vocal Tapestry Intensive is for you to listen to yourself more deeply, move through negative judgment and trust the impulses of your imagination, and connect with your creative mojo.
Whether you're a shower singer or virtuoso, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.
Is this a day-long intensive?
