Thrive Kids is a group coaching program designed to help children build the everyday skills they need to feel more confident, capable, and supported — at school, at home, and in daily life. It is offered in-person at Luma's office site in downtown Hershey, PA.

Through engaging, age-appropriate activities, Thrive Kids focuses on strengthening skills such as:
  • Focus, organization, and follow-through
  • Emotional awareness and self-regulation
  • Confidence, motivation, and problem-solving
  • Coping with stress, frustration, and transitions
  • Goal-setting and healthy routines
  • Social skills and navigation of relationships (family, peers)

Sessions are skills-based, interactive, and supportive, helping children practice strategies they can actually use in real-world situations. The group format allows kids to learn alongside peers, normalize common challenges, and build confidence in a positive, encouraging environment.

Thrive Kids is coaching and educational in nature, not therapy. While our team brings advanced training and experience in child development and behavioral health, the program does not involve diagnosis or mental health treatment. Instead, it emphasizes practical tools, growth-oriented habits, and strengths-based development.

This program is well-suited for children who may:
  • Struggle with focus, organization, or motivation
  • Feel overwhelmed, stressed, or unsure of themselves
  • Benefit from structured guidance and encouragement
  • Do well learning skills in a small, supportive group

Thrive Kids helps children build skills they can carry forward — supporting confidence, clarity, and everyday success.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Thrive Kids?
Thrive Kids is a skills-based coaching program designed to help children and teens build practical tools for confidence, focus, emotional regulation, motivation, and everyday problem-solving. The program emphasizes learning, practice, and growth in a supportive group environment.
Is Thrive Kids therapy or mental health treatment?
No. Thrive Kids is a coaching program, not therapy. It does not involve diagnosis, assessment, or treatment of mental health conditions. Coaching focuses on skill-building and personal development rather than medical or mental health care.
Who is Thrive Kids for?
Thrive Kids is designed for children and teens who can benefit from learning practical life skills in areas such as focus, organization, confidence, coping with challenges, and social or academic motivation. It is best suited for participants who can engage in a group setting and practice skills between sessions.
Who leads the Thrive Kids sessions?
Sessions are designed and led by expert staff from Luma Wellness with expertise in psychology, human development, and interventions to improve wellness and performance. Team members may have professional backgrounds in behavioral health, but all services provided through Thrive Kids are coaching-only, regardless of staff credentials.
How long is the program?
Thrive Kids is offered in program cycles (for example, a 3-month cycle). Details about session length, frequency, and scheduling are provided at the time of enrollment.
Do program cycles cover the same content each time?
No. Each Thrive Kids program cycle focuses on a different set of skills, themes, and activities, while still reinforcing core foundations such as confidence, focus, coping with challenges, and everyday problem-solving.
Although some concepts may be revisited for reinforcement, the specific content, examples, and exercises vary by cycle. This allows participants to continue building skills over time without repeating the same material.
Can my child participate in more than one cycle?
Yes. Many families choose to enroll in multiple cycles. Because each cycle emphasizes different skills and developmental themes, repeat participation allows children to deepen existing skills and learn new ones as they grow.
Will my child fall behind if they join later or repeat a cycle?
No. Thrive Kids is designed so participants can join a cycle without needing prior participation. Skills are introduced in an accessible way, and activities are adapted to support both new and returning participants.
What does a typical session look like?
Sessions are interactive and age-appropriate. They may include discussion, guided activities, reflection, and practice of practical strategies that participants can use in everyday life with a focus on learning and applying skills.
Do parents receive updates between sessions?
Individualized feedback and discussion about a participant’s development take place during scheduled sessions or designated parent meetings, as outlined in the program. Ongoing updates, progress reports, or coaching support are not provided by email between sessions.
What if my child needs therapy or clinical support?
Children can attend Thrive Kids while also attending therapy. If your child is experiencing a mental health crisis or needs clinical assessment or treatment, we encourage families to seek support from a licensed mental health provider or other qualified professional. Thrive Kids is not a replacement for crisis intervention.
What happens if we need to miss a session?
Please refer to the cancellation and attendance policy included in your coaching agreement. Missed sessions are generally not refunded or rescheduled unless otherwise specified.
Can we stop the program early if needed?
Yes. Either the client or Luma Wellness may discontinue participation in accordance with the terms outlined in the coaching agreement. Please review the termination and fee policies for details.
Who should I contact if I have questions?
