A Tailored Graduated Program with Personal Attention
Students at Levels 1 ( age 8+) and Levels 2 (age 10-13) have achieved beginning and beginning intermediate levels for the techniques and principles of our progressive, graduated program and the study of ballet featuring the American Ballet Theater National Curriculum that incorporates elements of French school, Cecchetti Italian School and Russian Vaganova training method. The curriculum at this level includes study of French ballet terminology, advancing to intermediate technique at the barre, center adagio & allegro, specific steps across the floor and learning ballet combinations. Dance Essentials™ is integrated into the classes for enhancing performance skills such as musicality, picking up choreography, expression and more. As desired, students may be provided with special mentoring and recommendations for private coaching.
Our ballet program is a progressive training curriculum . As students improve and make progress, they graduate from levels 1 through levels 5. Our tailored exclusive program intentionally limits our enrollment. Our teacher do not divide their attention between 20 students. Instead, our extreme limits often results in Private to Semi Private Training where students get the most personal attention, more correction and better results.
The level of students in this class package requires an in-person assessment before entering. For graduation, this level requires an in-person and written assessment, before graduating to level 2B or Level 3.
Level 1/2 meets on Mondays & Wednesdays at 4:30-5:30pm at CDA Studio.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why require assessments?
We take great care to ensure the placement of each student into the correct level so that each class moves along at similar pace for all participants. Since each student will be appropriately matched with other students, we provide the greatest potential for progress as well as injury prevention. The assessment covers maturity, rate of cognitive skills, past training, past knowledge gained, goals, technical skills and more. Pre ballet thru Primary B (3-8 years) assessment takes place within a class. Levels 1-5+ requires a more in-depth assessment, taking place as a 1:1 private lesson. An assessment is also required for Level 1+ graduations and to be placed en Pointe. We ask that all students new to our school please book the assessment package listed by age. Once student has been assessed and level has been determined you can book into that level package.
Do you require dress code?
Yes, proper attire is important for good training and allows the instructor to clearly see and make any necessary physical correction and adjustments to student. Each level wears a specific dress code, brand and color uniform. When a student graduates to a new level of training they are rewarded with a new colored uniform. Once your class package is booked you will have access to the Dress Code and other information that is needed.
Do students perform in shows?
Yes. Our Company has been producing shows for over 35 years. In the past, we have produced huge ballet productions in big theaters, complete with original musical scores, designed sets, lights and backdrops. Our ballets have features students, adults and professional dancers. Due to increased costs and other factors, we have curbed our big productions in favor of performing in-house concerts and demonstrations. Additionally, we feel that increased attention on training verses performing is more important during young and formative years. We prepare students for professional careers, if students choose to become professional or not. By doing so, we are preparing students for any career in life that requires dedication, perseverance and hard work. Additionally, children learn a great deal by participating in well produced concerts. Our decision regarding the best time to present our students is based on their development and readiness.
