Find Your Focus Alongside Others

Sometimes knowing what needs to be done is not enough to help you begin. A task may feel boring, overwhelming, unclear, or strangely impossible to start alone.

The Body Doubling Club offers recurring virtual focus sessions where you can work alongside other people without needing to work on the same thing. Bring professional work, household responsibilities, creative projects, personal administration, or anything else that could benefit from dedicated time and a little external structure.

Each 60-minute session includes a brief intention-setting check-in, an optional grounding prompt, approximately 45 minutes of independent focus time, and a closing reflection. You decide what to work on and what meaningful progress looks like that day.

The goal is not to finish everything or remain perfectly focused. The shared structure can make it easier to begin, return after distraction, and recognize the progress you made.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is body doubling?
Body doubling means completing a task in the presence of another person or group. Everyone works independently, but the shared time and presence can provide helpful structure, accountability, and momentum.
What can I work on?
You can bring almost any task that can be completed safely during a virtual session. You might answer emails, complete paperwork, pay bills, submit applications, write, study, work on a creative project, organize your calendar, plan meals, fold laundry, or tidy a room.
How do I join a session?
After becoming a member, you’ll receive recurring Google Calendar invitations for all weekly sessions. Each invitation will include the Google Meet link.

To attend, respond “Yes” to the calendar invitation at least 12 hours before the session begins. Once at least one member has responded “Yes,” the session is confirmed. Sessions without any confirmed attendees will not take place.
Do I have to attend every session?
No. Your membership gives you access to all scheduled sessions, but you choose when and how often you attend. Join when shared focus and accountability would be useful.
What happens during a session?
We’ll begin with a brief intention-setting check-in and an optional grounding prompt. We’ll then work independently for approximately 45 minutes before reconnecting for a short closing reflection.
Do I have to talk or keep my camera on?
No. You may keep your intention private, and your camera may remain on or off during the independent work period. You are welcome to participate in the opening and closing check-ins in the way that feels most comfortable.
What if I do not finish my task?
Finishing is not required. Beginning, returning after distraction, completing one small step, or gaining clarity about what comes next can all be meaningful progress.
How many people attend each session?
Sessions are intentionally small, and attendance varies. You may work alongside one person or several, but each session follows the same facilitated structure.
What if none of the scheduled times work for me?
Members may request another day or time. Special requests cannot be guaranteed, but they may be accommodated when availability allows. Recurring requests will also help shape future schedule changes.
Is this only for people with ADHD?
No. Body doubling may be useful for people with ADHD and other neurodivergent individuals, but no diagnosis is required. The club is open to anyone who benefits from shared presence, external structure, or gentle accountability.

Body doubling is an accountability and focus practice. It is not medical or mental-health treatment.
Can I cancel my membership?
Yes. You may cancel through Paperbell before your next billing date to prevent the next recurring charge. Canceling stops future renewals but does not provide a refund for the current billing period.
